Within the framework of the "Youth in Intercultural Dialogue for Peace – Baku Forum," the fifth panel session titled "Inclusive Societies and Social Integration" was held.
Sign language instructor and social projects organizer Nurana Abiyeva spoke at the panel. In her speech, she spoke extensively about the importance of inclusivity in the process of intercultural communication, noting that sustained and effective dialogue is only possible when all social groups are engaged in the process in an equal and accessible manner.
The speaker emphasized that intercultural communication should encompass mutual understanding not only among different nationalities and ethnic identities but also among individuals with diverse social and physical abilities. In particular, eliminating communication barriers and promoting sign language and alternative means of communication play a vital role in fostering an inclusive dialogue environment.
During the session, the impact of an inclusive approach on the quality of intercultural dialogue, the ensuring of social integration on a communicative level, and the importance of educating youth in this direction were discussed. It was noted that dialogue mechanisms formed without applying the principle of inclusivity do not yield long-term and sustainable results.
The panel continued in an interactive format; the participants' questions were answered, and a broad exchange of views took place on the topic. Within the framework of the session, it was highlighted that inclusivity is an integral component of intercultural communication and that social integration serves as one of the main pillars of this process.
