The Seven Dimensions

Participating organizations evaluate their policies, practices, and institutional capacity across seven core dimensions of multiculturalism and inclusion.

Assesses how effectively diversity and inclusion are integrated into leadership structures, governance frameworks, and organizational decision-making. This dimension examines whether inclusion is embedded in strategy and accountability mechanisms, or whether it remains informal and symbolic.

How It Works

The assessment is completed in a step-by-step format through the GUIDE Member Portal and takes approximately five to seven minutes.

The tool consists of 35 structured questions — five per dimension. Each question is supported by explanatory guidance to ensure consistent interpretation, and is rated on a scale of 0 to 10. Upon completion, organizations receive a comprehensive results dashboard.

The process follows four stages. First, the organization works through the seven dimensions sequentially, with a progress indicator visible throughout. Second, each question is answered on the 0–10 scale with reference to the provided guidance. Third, scores are calculated automatically across all dimensions. Fourth, the results dashboard is generated immediately, including an overall score, dimension-level scores, visual charts, key insights, and tailored recommendations. Results can be exported as a PDF report.

Who Can Use It

The tool is applicable to a broad range of organizations regardless of size or sector, including government institutions and public agencies, international organizations, non-governmental and civil society organizations, academic and research institutions, cultural institutions and foundations, and private sector organizations.

Results are based on self-reported data. To ensure accuracy and objectivity, organizations are encouraged to involve multiple stakeholders in the assessment process, use supporting evidence when rating each question, and repeat the assessment periodically to track progress over time.

Score Interpretation

The total score is calculated out of 350 points — 50 points per dimension. Results are categorized into five performance levels:

Multicultural and inclusion practices are largely absent or undeveloped. Significant foundational work is required.
